Candlelit game

Occasionally we hold a candlelit game at the end of the season, when the evenings have become too dark to play in. While it is still light, tealights in jars are placed all the way along the rink dividing lines. We light the candles and play part of the game in the fading light.

Having played a few ends, we retire into the clubhouse for some fish and chips while the light fades completely. Then we return to the darkened green and complete the game by candlelight - and torchlight...as best we can!

Nobody can see a thing ... which is where the 'fun' starts ...
